To deliver compliance, we commit to:

Ensuring risk identification

  • Implementing with maintaining Health, Safety and Security management systems to drive the mitigate the risks associated with our operations and product use
  • Consulting our employees, contractors, visitors and stakeholders on matters affecting their health, safety and security
  • Providing and maintaining equipment in a safe manner

Mitigating risks by

  • Complying with Health, Safety, Security and Environment legislations
  • Providing Health, Safety, Security training, awareness and information
  • Conducting periodic reviews to assess the level of compliance
  • Reporting Health, Safety, Security performance to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensuring disciplinary action where there is breach of Health, Safety, Security legislations
  • Reviewing and revising the policy every 2 years
  • Complying with Health, Safety, Security legislations
  • Providing Health, Safety, Security training, awareness and information
  • Conducting periodic reviews to assess the level of compliance
  • Reporting Health, Safety, Security performance to relevant stakeholders

Social

Since our inception, Masana has invested in our communities, partnering with these regions to assist with Socio-Economic, Supplier and Enterprise Development.

 

Masana’s Socio-Economic Development strategy is aimed beyond the compliance treadmill and mindset, with a sharp focus on creating a positive, sustainable difference. All components of Masana’s SED programmes endeavor to reflect the company’s values and corporate culture. The SED guideline drives our various activities/programmes, while ensuring they align with key business strategies. Our social responsibility projects are aimed at promoting employee involvement and collaborating with customers and other stakeholders for the benefit of designated South African communities.

 

Masana fully supports and remains committed to the promotion of human capital development through structured learning and development programmes. The company recognizes the development of the youth’s knowledge and skills is essential in improving their chances of employment. By implementing educational and training programmes in areas of value, we are nurturing the youth to become effective participants in the economy.

 

Our goal is to ensure that every cent spent on transformation translates into meaningful, sustainable community developments.

Supplier & Enterprise Development

Masana is committed to growing and developing enterprises and suppliers within our supply chain network. By supporting this economic growth and creating employment opportunities within the South African economy, we aim to achieve our four development goals:

 

  • Provide continued, meaningful contributions to economic growth; employment creation, skills development and B-BBEE transformation.
  • Develop local black-owned, black women-owned, and black youth-owned Exempted Micro-Enterprises (EMEs with turnover of less than R10mil) and Qualifying Small Enterprises (QSEs with turnover between R10-50mil) to supply Masana and/or our customers with high quality, competitive products and/or services.
  • Improve the quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the services provided by Masana; a direct result of securing more competitive services from suppliers.
  • Comply with Health, Security, Safety and Environment requirements.
